University of the Sunshine Coast
Based at Sippy Downs, USC is one of Australia’s fastest growing universities, serving the Sunshine Coast and extended region from north Brisbane to the Fraser Coast.
The University opened in 1996 with 500 students and was the first greenfield public university to be established nationally since the early 1970s.
Today, with around 10,000 enrolled students, USC is on track to reach projected student enrolments of 12,000 this year.

SunCentral – Maroochydore CBD Project
The SunCentral project will deliver a Greenfield regional CBD on the 53 hectare former Horton Park Golf Course site. The project is forecast to generate around 10,000 jobs over a 20 year time frame. Stage one of SunCentral commenced in June 2015 and comprise the demolition of the former clubhouse and nearby buildings followed by major earthworks and infrastructure works.
This work has been completed and construction of the new buildings by investors will commence shortly..

Sunshine Coast Airport
This project includes a new 2,430m runway which is expected to increase its capacity of both national and international flights as well as upgrades to the terminal complex, retail facilities plus an aerospace and aviation business precinct. The project is expected to generate more than 5,000 jobs.

Sunshine Coast University Public Hospital
Located less than ten minutes drive away in Kawana, this $2 billion project includes the now operational 250 bed Ramsay Private hospital and the 450 bed Sunshine Coast University Public Hospital which is now completed.. This project employs a permanent workforce exceeding 5,000 healthcare workers and is the region’s major employer. The project is equal to almost 25% of the local GDP and on an ongoing basis it is expected to directly contribute $0.5bn (5.5%) per annum to the local GDP.
